About the Role

Keswick Hall is an 80-room luxury boutique hotel set on 600 acres at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by celebrated landmarks such as Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, the University of Virginia, and over 25 local wineries, breweries, and cideries. The hotel features the prestigious Keswick Golf Club, Marigold Restaurant by Jean-Georges, a luxury spa, and a sports and aquatics center. As a Host, you will greet and seat guests, coordinate reservations, and respond to inquiries to ensure a warm, professional, and efficient guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Sincerely greet and interact with guests to create a warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere.
• Assign tables, prepare server checks before service, and seat guests in a way that ensures smooth service flow.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with established dress codes.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and communicate them through proper channels.
• Work with a "sense of urgency," including flipping tables and assisting servers as needed.
• Maintain the facility and services at the highest quality level for guest enjoyment.
• Maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant, recognizing each server’s maximum workload capacity.
• Collaborate harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of food and beverage experience (a combination of experience and/or education will be considered).
• Knowledgeable about the hotel, its outlets, the property, and the local area.
• Proficient reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to go up and down staircases, stoop, and bend.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Uniform Requirements

Non-slip shoes are required. Uniforms will be provided, and employees are responsible for maintaining a clean and crisp appearance.
