We're seeking a Mapudungun language expert to contribute to the development of high-quality training data for large-scale language models. Your expertise will help preserve Indigenous knowledge and support authentic linguistic interactions.
About the Role
You will be responsible for challenging advanced language models on topics such as contextual interpretation, tone and meaning, dialectical distinctions, semantic accuracy, and cultural nuance. Your work will document every failure mode to improve model reasoning.
Responsibilities
- Converse with the model in Mapudungun across a wide range of topics
- Verify linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance
- Capture reproducible error traces
- Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
Requirements
A Master's degree in Linguistics, Indigenous Studies, Translation, or a related field is ideal. Professional experience in teaching, translation, language documentation, or community work is preferred.
Qualifications
Clear, metacognitive communication is essential. You should be able to explain your thought process and methodology clearly.
Skills
Expertise in Mapudungun language, including regional dialects, phonetics, syntax, idiomatic expressions, oral traditions, and cultural references.
