About the role

This onsite role in Butler, PA involves assisting with the setup, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes. The Machine Operator inspects machine operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools and determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions.

Responsibilities

  • Unload parts and inspect for quality and perform equipment set-up.
  • Operate various equipment to meet production and business needs.
  • Maintain stock of material and machine parts for equipment.
  • Determine parts to be manufactured based upon production, orders, and stock.
  • Observe and maintain machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • 3+ years of previous machine operating experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, and clients.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Mechanical aptitude; ability to use a variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk, hear, and see.
  • Regularly or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly or occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.

Pay

The U.S. pay range for this position is $16 - $18 USD hourly, reflecting the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets.
