About the role

The Manufacturing Test Equipment Engineering Intern will support the development, maintenance, and improvement of automated test systems used in a manufacturing environment. The intern will work closely with manufacturing, test, quality, and design engineering teams to ensure reliable test system performance while gaining hands-on experience with programming, electronics, instrumentation, and manufacturing test processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
  • Carry out basic work instructions to understand the fundamentals of the company and learn new things
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • Assist in research in a particular field as required
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs, and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
  • Assist with test software development, troubleshooting hardware and software issues on production test equipment
  • Collect and analyze test data
  • Support equipment upgrades and modernization efforts
  • Develop automation tools
  • Create technical documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Engineering student; some progress toward an engineering degree
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build a professional network
  • Diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
