About the role
The Manufacturing Test Equipment Engineering Intern will support the development, maintenance, and improvement of automated test systems used in a manufacturing environment. The intern will work closely with manufacturing, test, quality, and design engineering teams to ensure reliable test system performance while gaining hands-on experience with programming, electronics, instrumentation, and manufacturing test processes.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
- Carry out basic work instructions to understand the fundamentals of the company and learn new things
- Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
- Complete assigned tasks on time
- Gather and assemble data for engineers
- Assist in research in a particular field as required
- Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
- Assist engineers with appropriate design details
- Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs, and practices
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
- Assist with test software development, troubleshooting hardware and software issues on production test equipment
- Collect and analyze test data
- Support equipment upgrades and modernization efforts
- Develop automation tools
- Create technical documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Engineering student; some progress toward an engineering degree
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build a professional network
- Diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
