About the role

The Manufacturing Technician II reports to a Process Execution Team Manufacture Supervisor on the Manufacturing floor, supporting Formulation operations. This position involves operating equipment in controlled and non-classified areas, product sampling, line clearances, data collection, and completing batch record entries. The Technician will also perform equipment setup, direct product sampling activities, batch reconciliation, and accountabilities per cGMPs, while serving as a resource for continuous improvement projects.

This position is a day shift role working 06:00 - 18:30 on a 2-2-3 rotating shift.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor process execution activities to ensure successful operations on the production floor, including attending daily Tier 0 meetings, tracking material and supply levels, and coordinating production tasks such as batch execution.
  • Collaborate with mechanic technicians and lead technicians to resolve production-related issues, including batch set-up, execution, documentation, equipment operations, SOPs, and safety and quality inspection procedures.
  • Perform clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) of process lines per SOPs.
  • Set up and create single-use connections, including single-use bags.
  • Execute filter integrity testing as needed per SOP.
  • Perform parts washing as necessary.
  • Conduct dispensing operations as required.
  • Manage inventory control using SAP.
  • Handle start-up, equipment operation, batch execution, material handling, cleaning, housekeeping, and line clearance activities.
  • Maintain a cGMP environment through cleaning and housekeeping activities in assigned areas.
  • Complete batch record and GMP documentation entries, including mathematical computations where needed.
  • Assist others with documentation as required.
  • Operate light material handling equipment and work with automated and semi-automated equipment (e.g., pumps, mixers).
  • Follow job-related safety procedures and hazards, including PPEs, ergonomics, LOTO, human safety, material handling, chemical handling, and spill controls.
  • Perform work in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, and OSHA requirements.
  • Support lean activities such as 5S, problem-solving, and process improvement analysis.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and sanitize various equipment.
  • Handle chemicals and perform spill control procedures, including hazardous waste pick-up duties.
  • Cross-train and support other work areas as needed.
  • Assist technical staff with preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Perform all other assigned duties with minimal supervision under the direction of the process facilitator or designee.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a pharmaceutical production environment.
  • Ability to effectively understand, read, write, communicate, and follow instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to keep accurate records and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Good organizational skills, situational leadership, and decision-making abilities.
  • Capability and motivation to learn new skills and develop capabilities to contribute to the Process Execution Team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of clean room techniques and chemical handling.
  • Ability to work in and adapt to a changing and demanding environment.
  • Some overtime may be required with minimal advance notice to support business needs.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate, vocational school graduate, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, SAP, and Veeva Vault (preferred).
  • Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and FDA policies/procedures (preferred).

Pay

The target base pay hiring range for this position is $21.50 - $32.00 per hour. Actual base pay is dependent upon factors including geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and knowledge.

Schedule

This position follows a 2-2-3 rotating shift with working hours from 06:00 to 18:30.
