Manufacturing Technician-Final Assembly

Responsibilities

  • Perform manufacturing tasks such as loading and unloading machinery, operating non-CNC equipment (e.g., gluing and clamping machines, painting equipment, simple test and measurement equipment, oil filling equipment).
  • Assemble or disassemble parts or units; position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using hand tools and power hand tools per product specifications.
  • Measure and adjust parts using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Inspect, verify, and document quality criteria during manufacturing to ensure units meet exact specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
  • Connect, crimp, solder, and braze internal leads and product wiring according to specifications using electrical and mechanical equipment (e.g., pneumatic tools, electric and gas torch brazing).
  • Wrap, tape, or insulate leads and wires per work instructions.
  • Perform electrical tests to confirm proper wiring and insulation per specification.
  • Read prints, Bill of Materials, specifications, and work instructions to determine proper component parts for processing, assembly, and installation.
  • Disassemble units to replace parts or to package units for shipping.
  • Fabricate wooden parts, fixtures, and packaging for delivery of units to customers.
  • Operate equipment to perform vacuuming, oil filling, and recovery safely and correctly.
  • Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies as required.
  • Safely move, handle, and store materials without damaging items.
  • Follow and adhere to standard work procedures, sequence of operations, and consistently meet manufacturing standards for quality and productivity.
  • Perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tasks as directed for each job or area.
  • Practice 6S and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines, and safe working practices.
  • Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissors lifts, and work platforms.
  • Assist in training new employees, including improving individual skills and developing training materials.
  • Actively assist in troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support and assist the Manufacturing Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager as needed.
  • Understand and work under the direction of Hyosung HICO policies and procedures, including Quality and Environmental Policies.

Additional non-essential duties may include basic preventative maintenance, completing process check sheets, verifying the work of other employees, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent, plus two years’ experience, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Developed mechanical or technical skills.
  • Experience using various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings, specifications, prints, or work instructions.
  • Developed math and practical geometry skills.
  • Basic computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and understanding of computer applications.
  • Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and correctly use hand and power tools and measurement devices.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairs.
  • Ability to inspect work and judge quality compared to established standards, drawings, and instructions.
  • Ability to operate powered equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to work in outdoor climates and normal indoor temperatures.
  • Stand and walk a minimum of 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, kneel, and reach above the shoulders as required.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb and work up to 20 feet off the ground for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to use all applicable PPE, including hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves.
