About the role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician with hands-on experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and advanced inspection techniques. This role involves working with very small, high-precision components in a cleanroom environment, supporting engineering builds and new product development.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment, including pick-and-place systems, in accordance with documented work instructions.
- Perform inspection of assemblies using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), X-Ray systems, and microscopes to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Handle and assemble miniature and microelectronic components with a high degree of precision and care.
- Interpret microcircuit layout drawings and engineering specifications to support accurate assembly and inspection processes.
- Maintain strict attention to detail for both product quality and production documentation.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to support product development, engineering builds, and process improvements.
- Work from production schedules, process plans, and technical instructions to meet deadlines and priorities.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills to effectively balance multiple tasks in a high-mix production environment.
- Support and maintain 6S standards to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Follow all ESD protocols and cleanroom procedures to ensure product integrity.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in microelectronics or SMT assembly.
- Hands-on experience with SMT processes, AOI, X-Ray inspection, and microscope-based work preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience operating SMT pick-and-place equipment (e.g., Mydata or similar).
- Proficiency in microscope inspection and working with fine-pitch or small-scale components.
- Familiarity with IPC-610 quality standards.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
