About the role

The Manufacturing Technical Trainer is responsible for developing, organizing, and delivering structured technical training programs for production line operators and technicians. This role plays a critical part in ensuring workforce readiness, technical competency, compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational excellence within AOI’s manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement robust technical training programs for manufacturing operators and technicians.
  • Create structured and interactive experiences for candidates' onboarding and certification programs aligned with production requirements.
  • Develop training materials including presentations, manuals, SOP documentation, job aids, and digital learning tools.
  • Train employees on technical processes, manufacturing equipment, safety protocols, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Maintain strict training schedules to support production demands and workforce planning.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide structured feedback and skill assessments.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations leadership to ensure training content reflects current process improvements.
  • Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Continuously improve training effectiveness through data tracking, feedback analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Support audits and ensure alignment with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management Information System, Technical Education, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management Information System, Technical Education, or related field highly preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, technical training, or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production workflows.
  • Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, and structured training documentation.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training schedules and priorities.
  • Technical aptitude and manufacturing process knowledge.
  • Instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Organizational and scheduling discipline.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Process documentation and SOP development.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, or Vietnamese is a plus.
  • Digital video editing skills in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve is a plus.

Location

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
