About the Role

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will assist in the manufacture of quartz components using various tools and equipment. Your training will take place during the 4:00 am - 12:30 pm shift, Monday - Friday. After completing training, you will transition to a regular work schedule of 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 10% differential.

What You’ll Do

• Use your thumbs to firmly hold sandpaper against a part on a grinding wheel with all of your upper body strength.
• Operate and troubleshoot automated robots that aid in grinding processes.
• Cut glass to the required lengths, cut in bevels, slots or other features, etch off layers to perfect glass, and rinse items in an acid bath between all steps.
• Produce and inspect in-process products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
• Work in accordance with process procedures, work order instructions, drawings, and other production documents.
• Use sandpaper and other tools to cosmetically grind, buff, and polish the parts.
• Maintain equipment.
• Detect and correct minor machine malfunctions and perform daily and monthly machine maintenance as directed.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.
• Wear and use all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) properly and in accordance with manufacturer and OSHA regulations.

Note: This position works with chemicals (including acid) for up to 20% of the shift. All employees must strictly follow all safety protocols and wear required safety gear during their shift. This includes goggles, aprons, boots, acid pants (optional), 2 sets of gloves, and a half mask or PAPR respirator.

Who You Are

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to accurately follow instructions.
• Able to lift and extend with arms outstretched, up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work in a loud, wet environment.
• Aptitude for learning; blueprints, machine mathematics, and precision measurement equipment.
• Able to wear all required, Company-provided safety gear during your shift.
