Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation
    • Set up and safely operate stamping presses and metal forming equipment.
    • Follow all standard operating procedures and safety protocol.
    • Inspect all work to ensure quality standards are met.
    • Keep work area clean and maintain all tools and equipment in good condition.
    • Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and cranes.
    • Perform to machine runtime goals and production expectations.
    • Maintain all production paperwork as required.
    • Work independently or in a team environment.
    • Train others as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Safety
    • Work safely and follow all safety rules and operational procedures.
    • Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures as required.
    • Wear and maintain all appropriate PPE.
    • Understand all safety devices and their operation.
    • Notify management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to machine operation.
  • Quality
    • Perform quality checks using a tape measure to verify length, width, and hole spacing.
    • Use a micrometer to measure product thickness.
    • Perform routine checks for straightness, bow, and camber.
    • Check part dimensions using appropriate tools.
    • Maintain all quality paperwork in a legible manner.
  • Maintenance
    • Notify supervision or maintenance personnel of any machine issues that could slow production, cause safety concerns, or lead to further maintenance problems.
    • Assist maintenance personnel as directed.
  • Housekeeping
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • Qualifications
    • Mechanically inclined
    • Problem solver
    • Team oriented
  • Education and/or Experience
    • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
  • Physical Demands
    • Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
    • Standing: 8 or more hours per day
    • Walking: Off and on, 4-6 hours per day
    • Body Positions: Squatting, bending, flexing, and extending both arms
    • Grasping: Both hands, up to 8 hours per day
    • Sitting: None
    • Pushing Effort: Carts of finished product and tools, up to 50 lbs.
    • Pulling: Tools and finished product, up to 15 lbs.
    • Climbing (ladders/stairs): Occasionally
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.
    • Ability to read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer accurately.
  • Work Environment
    • Manufacturing facility exposed to heat and cold.
    • Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.
    • Noise-controlled environment.
    • High activity level with continuous overhead crane and forklift movement.
