Manufacturing Team Leader III, Medical Molding - Day Shift

About the role

Manages daily production challenges, drives continuous improvement activities, and supports the implementation to improve the existing processes to improve the efficiency of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to Medical Molding team
  • Daily interaction with the department Team Lead and Supervisor to maximize productivity and prioritize daily activities.
  • Mentoring team to troubleshoot and fix processing problems.
  • As required, making sure all factory order packets are printed and ready for upcoming orders.
  • Providing guidance and increasing factory orders based on production demands.
  • Reviewing completed factory orders and verifying reported production. If necessary, make adjustments to reported production.
  • Assist in changeovers and setups.
  • Training all associates on duties and responsibilities with all job classifications. This would include any new equipment such as cameras, auxiliary equipment, as well as new procedures.
  • Lead Daily G.O. Meeting
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives through TEOA.
  • Attention to 5S, Safety Standards and fair, firm and consistent enforcement of company and plant policies and procedures.
  • Inspect molded product using dial calipers, micrometers, and hard gaging as prescribed by the quality inspection plan.
  • Complete Weekly Preventative Maintenance tasks for assigned equipment and closing of Action Items found during audits.
  • Must be able to produce a high volume of quality product while achieving strong customer demands and aggressive due dates.
  • Knowledgeable on cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) for the Medical Industry is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team to achieve production and quality objectives is necessary.
  • Must be able to read English, perform basic arithmetic calculations and work with alpha/numeric part numbers.
  • Blue print reading skills will enhance future job progression.
  • Must be able to understand and read measuring devices such as a ruler, micrometer, dial indicator, and ohm meter.
  • Associates must be able to identify an acceptable part as well as a defective part.

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete print reading and demonstrate measuring skills.
  • Must successfully pass Bennett Mechanical Testing.
  • Attention to 5S+1 and teamwork is required.
  • Good eye to hand coordination and hand dexterity required.
  • Patient for fine visual inspection using a microscope is also required.
  • Mature interpersonal skills to interact as part of a team is desirable.
  • Must be able to maintain focus since the work is repetitious.
  • Must be able to learn multiple tasks within a work area allowing one to rotate through the various stations.
  • Develop an understanding of the molding process to minimize scrap.
  • Knowledgeable in basic math skills required.

Qualifications

  • Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum weight of 14 lbs.
  • Must be able to push a foot pedal with 10 lbs of peak force.
  • Frequent extending hands and arms between knees and shoulder level.
  • Will be required to pick up parts frequently with hands and perform fine finger manipulations.
  • Constant sitting with brief standing / walking.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (@ 20 inches or less) for small objects and ability to adjust focus.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.

Skills

Pay

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $30.01/Hour (subject to change dependent on physical location)
