The Team Lead II will provide daily work direction for a production department of 5-40 production associates, ensuring effective communication and completion of manufacturing operations tasks while applying AMS tools. This role involves identifying process and resource constraints, utilizing decision-making and problem-solving techniques to meet SQDC metrics, and providing feedback, coaching, and training to production employees.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the continuous flow of production to meet planned output while following operations standards (safety, quality, delivery, cost, maintenance).
  • Identify issues, engage the Tier 1 team in process or problem resolution, and escalate appropriate issues to the Tier 2 team.
  • Partner with Value Stream Supervisors to facilitate training and development of production employees, providing clear expectations of performance, AMS, quality, and safety.
  • Provide coaching and feedback, and maintain a cross-training matrix to effectively utilize knowledge of employee capabilities.
  • Coordinate movement of employees to meet business needs.
  • Focus on improving business metrics by leading and supporting AMS projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain visual management tools (PVA, run charts, CI boards, and Tier 1 boards) to drive continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Participate in problem-solving using AMS tools and methodology (5 Why, PDCA, MCA).
  • Demonstrate leadership in communications, conflict resolution, process constraints, and problem-solving.
  • Lead and effectively communicate at daily Tier One meetings to encourage employee participation and engagement.
  • Provide support to other production areas as needed, including project support, leader coverage, and cycle counting responsibilities.
  • Complete standard work and control plan audits, including safety, finished goods quality, scrap, and standard work.
  • Participate in and complete corrective actions from the MCA process.
  • Follow and consistently enforce all safety procedures according to standards; proactively address safety concerns.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge and application of continuous improvement processes such as 5s and problem-solving methods; Lean training or certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of operations products, processes, and equipment, including safety, quality, changeover and set-up skills, and knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and basic machine diagnostic skills.
  • Understanding of interdependencies (manufacturing/functional groups) across the value stream.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate employees.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying constraints or barriers, problem-solving, delegation, and sound decision-making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and life-long learner with demonstrated initiative.

Pay

$24.95 - $36.15 per hour.
