Manufacturing Support Technician - B1 Warehouse 1st Shift 7:30am - 4:00pm

About the role

Under supervision, the support technician will observe all PPE requirements per Zoetis policy and become familiar with department-specific SOPs. You will assist filling units by delivering materials, loading/unloading skids of product, and filling bins for future processes. Additional duties include:

• Supporting the receipt of incoming materials from the dock that need to be decorrigated and sent into production
• Monitoring the passbox for clutter and ensuring effective movement
• Preparing and delivering gaylord containers
• Completing all SAP transactions specific to activity
• Communicating with Kingbird and other departments based on deliveries

Hours: 1st shift, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and practice basic aseptic procedures as per training and SOPs
• Assist with reading and reporting test results using scientific instruments
• Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality
• Learn and comply with SOPs and associated documentation necessary to perform job functions
• Assist in completing documentation including process worksheets, reports, and log sheets
• Train in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and demonstrate understanding and compliance
• Clean areas according to specific SOPs
• Assist in maintaining adequate supplies in the production area
• Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment; comply with safety SOPs and procedures (MSDS guidelines, Near Miss, PPE, biohazard training, monthly safety trainings, etc.)
• Handle hazardous waste as required
• Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills within and outside the department using verbal, written, and non-verbal skills
• Become a certified operator of electric material handling equipment (e.g., electric pallet jack, tank tugger)
• Perform supplemental duties as assigned by supervision

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Basic mechanical skills
• Demonstrated personal computer usage

Skills

• Good communication skills; ability to read, interpret, and apply safety procedures, SOPs, maintenance instructions, and departmental procedures
• Effective communication with peers and team leaders; accurate and legible documentation
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure; metric system conversions
• Ability to complete controlled documents and inventory calculations
• Understanding and application of instructions in written, oral, and/or diagram formats
• Multitasking and ability to recognize product quality issues based on company guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Good listening skills and ability to work in a team environment

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity using hands and fingers
• Constant standing for extended periods
• Frequent need to crouch and reach with hands and arms
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to heavy items; ANSI 75 safety shoes required
• Exposure to cleaning agents/chemicals; PPE as required
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts; ensure safety shields are always in place
• Exposure to extreme temperature variations; PPE as required
