What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
- Cook up production workflow by ensuring materials, tools, equipment, and labor are properly allocated.
- Monitor production output, efficiency, and quality metrics, addressing issues that impact productivity or delivery timelines.
- Work closely with Materials and Planning teams to ensure production has the required materials available when needed.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of production equipment and tools.
- Escalate production issues to appropriate departments and collaborate on solutions to maintain production flow.
Team Leadership & Daily Operations
- Lead, coach, and support production team members to ensure safe work practices and consistent performance.
- Assign daily tasks and responsibilities based on production priorities and staffing levels.
- Provide hands-on guidance and troubleshooting support on the shop floor.
- Support employee training and onboarding for manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Monitor attendance, performance, and engagement of production staff.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows.
- Support implementation of standardized work instructions and operating procedures.
- Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to address process issues and implement improvements.
- Absorb layout improvements, material flow improvements, and productivity enhancements.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure production activities comply with TransPak quality standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements (ISO 9001, OSHA, etc.).
- Reinforce adherence to work instructions, quality procedures, and inspection requirements.
- Address quality issues and implement corrective actions with support from Quality teams.
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and reporting hazards.
- Support internal audits and corrective action follow-up when required.
