Principal Duties and Accountabilities
- Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to increase equipment reliability and uptime.
- Documents all checks, services and repairs in such a manner as to keep equipment manufacturer's warranties in effect and to maintain compliance with plant, local, state and federal requirements.
- Performs repairs on facilities, systems, equipment or components that is consistent with mechanical ability, economically feasible and can be done in a timely manner.
- Utilizes expert knowledge on call operations within the facility to produce product according to the job instructions.
- Adheres to all housekeeping/sanitation standards in and around work area including 5S standards.
- Serves as a team member to solve problems or implement positive improvements.
- Troubleshoots mechanical repairs excluding electrical work; performs preventative maintenance as required.
- Completes necessary station tracking transactions.
- Maintains a clean, uncluttered work area, according to 5S standards.
- Works overtime when required.
- Affixes to any other projects and/or tasks on an as needed basis as directed by Team Leader and/or management.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC controlled, high speed production equipment for a safe and productive work environment.
- Complies with all safety standards and regulations provided by the company and government (e.g. LOTOT, Work Permits, etc.).
- Prioritizes and self-schedules maintenance work around production activities to achieve both production and maintenance KPI’s.
- Operates machinery and achieves key performance metrics.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate or recognized equivalent.
- Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following: Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision, Read and comprehend process instructions, Record pertinent process information as required.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial or specialized maintenance experience preferred or a recognized certificate of training or diploma in a course of study in general mechanics AND 2 years verifiable experience in a position with similar duties and responsibilities.
- Must satisfactorily pass a written comprehension test and mechanical aptitude evaluation.
- Mechanical drive experience, mechanical installation and alignment techniques (motor/gearbox, pumps, sprockets, sheaves).
- Use or precision measurement tools.
- Experience with AC/DC and servo motors, experience with limit and proximity switches, photo-electric sensors and solenoid valves.
- Ability to work any of a 4 day 7 shift operation.
- Knowledge/experience using the Microsoft Office suite including Excel for data collection and interpretation.
