About the role

On-site work location: Spartronics; 2920 Kelly Ave; Watertown, SD

Regular shift hours: 10 hours/day, Monday - Thursday with OT on Friday when necessary. Breaks: 2 × 10 minutes; 20-minute lunch.

Tools/Equipment used: Circuit boards, test fixtures, hand tools, microscope and magnification lighting.

Personal Protective Equipment required: ESD smocks, ESD foot and wrist straps, safety glasses.

Responsibilities

  • Performs printed circuit insertions and other manual assembly tasks.
  • Prepares printed circuit boards, electronic components, and wire for use in subsequent assembly.
  • Responsible for the proper use of simple machines and hand tools to accomplish these tasks.
  • Responsible for learning and conforming to industry standards for solder connections.
  • Set up work stations and machines using all descriptive and instructional material related to the job assignment.
  • Responsible for following instructions explicitly to complete the assigned operation.
  • Keep work area neat and organized.
  • Actively promote safety and accident prevention by continually observing all safety practices, rules and standards throughout each working day.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer navigation skills required.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds with or without accommodation, sit 50% - 100% of shift, stand occasionally, fine motor skills and wrist/arm repetitive motion, and simple grasping 50% - 100% of shift. Full physical requirements outlined in attachment.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend spoken work instructions in English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and be detail oriented.
  • Must be a US Citizen, Green Card Holder, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee (ITAR compliance).
