Responsibilities
- Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Affirms product and process quality by designing testing methods.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
- Development of process documentation, including SOP’s, process routings, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, and error proofing plans.
- Lead the tryout and evaluation of new machinery, tooling, and equipment.
- Development of cost estimates for new and major programs, often working from early concept cross sections, concept drawings, concurrent engineering discussions, and evolving assumptions.
- Experience with statistical qualification of machinery, equipment, and gages, and the ability to improve and document our methods for completing these tasks.
- Develop and standardize processes and parameters; implement new ideas to improve safety, quality, cost and productivity, including PSO and launch.
- Provide technical direction; specify, quote, source, purchase and lead in the installation of new equipment and processes.
- Initiate cost-savings ideas and projects through efficient engineering practices.
- Train manufacturing personnel as necessary on the use and maintenance of new equipment and processes; assist in the de-bugging of new equipment and troubleshoot problems with existing equipment; interact with team members to optimize processes and improve work station design.
- Support new program launches; monitor daily quality and productivity results, and react to problems as they occur.
- Ability to assess safety, quality, and delivery problems on the shop floor and implement solutions.
- Support lean scheduling project which focuses on lean line design, standard work, Kanban, and material delivery.
- Plan and implement manufacturing cost-reduction opportunities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing engineering discipline.
- 1+ years knowledge of CNC programming.

- Relevant technological knowledge.
- Fluent in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Fluent in lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with lean principles such as lean line design and Kanban pull systems.
- Experience in manufacturing environment with machining, and assembly.
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline or combination of education and experience.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
This position will be based in Connersville, Indiana with minimal travel required.
