About the role

ASML US, LP brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. The Manufacturing Engineer role at ASML designs, develops, implements and sustains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture, fabrication, testing and troubleshooting of critical consumable components. This role is responsible for factory metrics such as yield, cycle time, and capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and installing custom LabVIEW based applications & systems incorporating a wide variety of technologies (DAQ, machine vision, motion & real-time control, etc.) to support customized manufacturing tooling.
  • Supporting a complex home-grown application that assists people working on the manufacturing shop floor.
  • Able to successfully perform hardware and software troubleshooting efforts, upgrade LabView software, and support calibration efforts.
  • Create visualization dashboards to update integration, qualification status.
  • Using Agile methodology to develop the software using Python, Matlab, or LabVIEW.
  • Create designs and implement code that are modular, scalable, robust and meet quality requirements.
  • Integrate and create software release candidates.
  • Qualify software on virtual, simulated environments.
  • Execute the defined system level test set.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues arise during testing, and raise defects.
  • Create test result documents as required to support internal and external program reviews.
  • Ensure successful completion of system-level testing, reliability testing, and any activity required to support a quality software release.
  • Assign verdict to reliability issues.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Design and execute qualification tests for manufacturing process or equipment changes.
  • Apply statistical methods to analyze in-line and end user quality data.
  • Evaluate and analyze data acquired during test using programs such as MS Excel, MS Access, JMP, Minitab and Lab View. Make recommendations for process or design modifications based on analysis.
  • Build and maintain databases.
  • Investigate and report root cause of problems, follow up with corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Special Build activities between Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Lead and/or participate as a member of cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in daily factory meetings and drive for resolutions of big hitter problems.
  • Implement containment and corrective actions.
  • Create data collection schemes.
  • Facilitate completion of prototype and pilot production units to meet schedule requirements.
  • Deliver technical support to contribute to rapid solutions of complex technical issues.
  • Prevent disturbances from re-occurring by feeding issue resolution in cooperation with Manufacturing Engineering and Design & Engineering.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in science and engineering such as computer science, physics, or electrical engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment desired.
  • Experience programming with LabVIEW and C++ is a must.
  • Advanced experience using one or more of the following software packages: Excel, JMP, MS Project.
  • Competence in electrical, software and mechanical troubleshooting and functions preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company - Technicians to Management.
  • Must be comfortable with a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities without jeopardizing project schedule.

  • The employee is required to work in a cleanroom environment: full gowning (full body coveralls, hood, CR safety shoes, face mask, nitrile gloves and safety glasses. Working under ISO 9000/14000 standards).
  • Operating/working around overhead cranes, fork trucks and motorized pallet movers.
  • Working around lasers; working with ladders; working on platforms; and working around chemicals.
  • The employee is occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May require travel dependent on company needs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

The current base annual salary range for this role is $108,000-162,000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

Schedule
