Manufacturing Scientist/Technical Services Intern – Elanco Technology Center (Summer 2027)
About the role
As a Summer 2027 Engineering Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Technical Services Manufacturing Sciences (TSMS) Lab team at our Elanco Technology Center (ETC), delivering a practical solution to reducing analytical variability, a manufacturing technical project, or implementation of new lab methods. Interns will have exposure to many career paths and diverse subject matter experts, as many projects have network-wide impact.
Responsibilities
- Understand the Animal Health Manufacturing process, document using GMP guidelines, and understand the importance of the Quality Unit.
- Work within cross-functional teams to implement process or Quality Control lab improvements.
- Learn about fermentation, product recovery, product finishing, or quality control.
- Study design improvement processes.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Biology (Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or other related), Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering major.
- Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn.
Skills
- Preferred: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred: Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Preferred: Ability to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision.
- Preferred: Previous laboratory experience.
