The Manufacturing Sales/Engineer at Stella-Jones will play a critical role for the Sales and Engineering departments in Bellingham, WA. Responsibilities include creating production drawings using AutoCAD, managing bills of material, project quoting and problem solving with customers. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with strong communication skills, proficiency in design software, and the ability to maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities

• Create production drawings using AutoCAD for all manufactured products in Bellingham, WA.
• Create and manage bills of material in SAP; follow and help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare presentations using PowerPoint.
• Support Sales and Engineering departments in Bellingham:
  • Sales: quote distribution crossarms and transmission framing components; contact customers to discuss drawings; engage in direct sales conversations with electric utilities.
  • Engineering: assist Engineering Department with distribution and transmission quotes under direction of Manufacturing Engineering Lead; use SAP to support quote preparation; ability to quote smaller transmission quotes from start to finish with manager review before returning to customer.
• Provide technical support to customers and other salespeople within the Stella-Jones Utility Products group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Structural, Electrical).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, PLS, and/or SpidaCalc software systems helpful.
• Technical aptitude to interpret technical drawings and customer specifications.
• Self‑motivated with high level of verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team setting.
• Strong time and resource management skills.
• Readily available for limited travel to industry events, client visits, and tradeshows.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (AutoCAD); initial support role to Sales and Engineering with growth potential.
• Ability to maintain Standard Operating Procedures for manufacturing operations at the direction of Manufacturing Lead Engineer and Sales Director.
• Assist Manufacturing Lead Engineer and Sales Director in quoting projects.
• Attention to detail required.
• Problem‑solving skills.

Schedule

Full‑time position, Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. Work location: Bellingham Office (daily 7 am – 4 pm, M‑F). Reports to Engineering Lead and Director of Crossarm Sales.
