Manufacturing Recruiter
About the Role
The recruiter is responsible for managing the full life cycle of recruiting activities, including recruiting, researching, interviewing, screening, referral of job candidates, and effective onboarding for job openings. This role works closely with the human resources department and other departments to provide customer-focused HR support, helping achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop a staffing strategy based on business workforce plans.
- Partner with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, duties, qualifications, and skills; initiate requisition approval process.
- Review job descriptions with hiring managers during the requisition process.
- Place job advertising in various media.
- Review applications and interview applicants to assess work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements; provide information about the organization and position.
- Initiate contact with qualified candidates for specific job openings.
- Screen and refer candidates for additional interviews within the organization.
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts to identify, source, and pipeline qualified candidates.
- Maintain and update candidate database in the ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
- Generate offer letters in coordination with hiring managers.
- Develop and maintain contacts with schools, NC Works, and other public organizations to attract applicants.
- Make public presentations at schools, organizations, and job fairs regarding the organization and opportunities.
- Coordinate participation in career fairs, including setup and staffing.
- Initiate and monitor background screening processes.
- Launch electronic onboarding for new hires prior to their first day.
- Maintain adequate orientation materials.
- Schedule and conduct new hire orientations for hourly and salary employees.
- Maintain the badging system for all NC employees.
- Enter all temps into timekeeping systems and work closely with temp agencies and managers to ensure proper access.
Requirements
- 3+ years of recruiting experience.
- Ability to operate under pressure and provide timely responses to requests.
- Exhibit strict confidentiality and professionalism in HR practices.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Travel 5-10%.
Qualifications
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate with management at all levels.
- Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines, and targets.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work in front of a laptop or PC workstation for extended periods.
- Able to tour manufacturing facilities with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
