Manufacturing Quality Engineer (Plating)
The Role
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer (Plating) will analyze and discuss quality concerns with assigned manufacturing departments. Key responsibilities include identifying, prioritizing, and addressing quality problems, initiating and verifying corrective actions, enforcing quality policies, maintaining knowledge of relevant standards, conducting audits, and promoting continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and address significant and repetitive quality problems
- Initiate and verify the effectiveness of formal corrective actions
- Maintain thorough knowledge of ISO-9001, AS-9100, and Amphenol's quality manual and procedures
- Enforce quality policies
- Maintain working knowledge of products and associated processes
- Conduct quality audits when appropriate and when assigned
- Develop and maintain constructive professional relationships with employees and customers
- Take prudent actions to reduce cost of non-quality and customer returns
- Investigate and disposition customer returns involving product from area of responsibility
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
- Knowledge of statistical methods and computer fluency
- Strong interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication
- Applicable experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred
- Extensive experience with Amphenol's computer systems, including the AS400 mainframe and local PC network
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Data4 software
- Ability to travel throughout a manufacturing floor environment
- Some lifting and carrying of small loads may be required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
