About the role

The Quality Engineer will assist in creating and maintaining the quality culture at the plant level. Responsibilities include managing plant calibration, Certificates of Analysis (COA), raw material and finished goods records, collaborating with process experts to reduce variation, and supporting operational and financial business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations and process engineering to optimize finished good performance through formulation and process changes.
• Manage quality data and testing frequency to improve and define quality control throughout the process and products.
• Perform routine Measurement System Analysis (MSA) for the plant and take action based on testing results.
• Lead Quality Improvement projects using tools such as MVT/DOE and Kepner Tregoe PSDM; coordinate capital improvements with managers on timelines, budget, and resources.
• Update and review plant-specific SOPs and the GAF ISO Quality manual.
• Retrain on quality documentation (SFP, PCD, TFP, SOP, Calibration) per business unit requirements.
• Train production personnel on Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and its impact on finished goods and raw material variations; lead SQC charting application and interpretation.
• Manage calibration, audit, finished goods, COA records, and raw material batch tracking.
• Conduct audits with certifying partners and internally; create action plans based on audit results to improve plant quality.
• Support product improvement and new product development efforts.
• Define and develop testing protocols for finished product and raw material performance.
• Conduct Vendor CAPA analysis on raw materials; collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
• Conduct internal CAPAs for the plant with support from the process engineer.
• Develop and perform periodic warehouse audits.
• Work closely with QA and other quality engineers to standardize best practices across plants.
• Manage the plant’s red tag system.
• Monitor claims and report monthly metrics; conduct residential jobsite visits for potential product performance issues.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or STEM field (required).
• 5+ years of experience in a Quality/Manufacturing role (required).
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (required).
• 3+ years of experience in a quality role (preferred).
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, including root cause analysis, statistical process control, lean/agile approaches, and structured problem-solving.
• Ability to translate technical data into accessible formats for personnel.
• Intermediate skills in process hazard analysis and process safety management.
• Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to read, concentrate, and perform computer data entry, typing, and proofreading.

Travel Requirements: 20%

Pay

Base salary range: $76,000–$104,500. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on geographic location, relevant experience, skills, education, and qualifications.
