Responsibilities
- Organize project activities, lead the project team, prioritize, and delegate tasks to team members in adherence with timeline and budget requirements
- Lead manufacturing transfer and sustaining projects for pharmaceutical packaging, medical device and drug delivery device projects encompassing multiple operational and engineering disciplines
- Function within a manufacturing setting while balancing the needs of production against the needs of new product launches
- Ensure project scope is maintained and/or manage out of scope requests
- Forecast resources for short/mid/long-term project needs
- Generate financial and project reports for internal and external communication
- Liaise with client for routine project updates, build relationships with clients
- Own project communication and stakeholder management
- Lead project update meetings, delegate tasks, prioritize activities and manage resources
- Support Business Development through project timeline and budget preparation for new opportunities as well as project extensions in collaboration with supervisor
- Facilitate internal and external project meetings
- Evaluate project risk and establish risk mitigation measures. Escalate issues as needed and implement correct and preventive actions
- Grasp technical details with an ability to lead team through decision making
- Manage ongoing project timelines and budgets
- Maintain documents relating to overall project (DMR, NPI/Transfer forms, etc.). Ensure deliverables are being met and customer is satisfied
- Capture vendor activities (suppliers, tooling vendors, automation integrators, etc)
- Ensure team members comply with established QMS guidelines/procedures/work instructions
- Mentor junior team members and interns
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Candidates with a minimum of an associate’s degree plus relevant manufacturing or engineering experience may also qualify
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing processes typically obtained through completion of a 4-year engineering or technical degree program, or through combination of formal education and progressive industry experience
- Minimum 4 years of engineering or manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a project management role
- Strong project management skills and ability to work alone or in teams
- Experience managing projects from concept through implementation including timelines, budget, cross-functional coordination, and process improvement initiatives preferred
- CAPM or PMP certification is a plus
- Knowledge of medical device regulations (FDA/ISO) a plus
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting, especially medical injection molding and automated assembly, is preferred
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong writing skills and/or data analysis
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and vendors in a technical capacity
- Proficient computer skills, including Excel and Word. Preferably experience with project management software
