Manufacturing Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead OpEx projects for improvements to manufacturing capabilities and processes.
• Identify OpEx savings and help initiate projects.
• Optimize manufacturing space by reviewing product flow and plant layouts using LEAN principles.
• Report OpEx results to senior management both on and off site.
• Participate in and/or lead LEAN, process improvement teams and other small project technical teams.
• Develop and implement process improvements to make most efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
• Support process for identifying root causes and implement corrective actions for production problems and develop re-work instructions as needed.
• Manage process documentation, including work instructions, safety documentation, etc.
• Support the training of manufacturing staff and provide them with work instructions and manuals.

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Process, Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, related engineering fields or 5-years’ experience in manufacturing.
• OpEx program management.
• High attention to detail and organization.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Able to solve complex technical problems.
• Able to manage and complete multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Must meet ITAR requirements or have the ability to obtain an Export License.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
• Formal LEAN training and experience.
• Expertise with engineering software.
• Experience in powdered metal manufacturing.
