Job Summary
About the role
Operate multiple machines and processes used in forming, machining, and finishing chain and fittings. Manage routine process variability and maintain production efficiency. Support consistent output and product quality in a metal manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forming presses, CNC machines, threading equipment, or welding stations.
- Perform equipment setup and changeovers for different sizes or product types.
- Monitor heat treatment, forging, or machining processes for consistency.
- Perform dimensional inspections (length, diameter, thread pitch, etc.).
- Identify and resolve routine production issues such as misfeeds or tooling wear.
- Record production, downtime, and scrap data in tracking systems.
- Support coating or finishing processes (galvanizing, plating, painting).
- Ensure material traceability throughout the production process.
- Train and assist Level I technicians.
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or related experience.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of equipment used in chain and fittings manufacturing (presses, threading machines, CNC) required for effective operation.
- Skill in dimensional inspection of metal components using gauges and measurement tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine issues such as tooling wear, misalignment, or material inconsistencies.
- Knowledge of heat treatment, coating, or finishing processes impacting product durability.
- Ability to interpret basic product specifications and tolerances for load-bearing components.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining production targets and quality standards.
Skills
