Responsibilities

• Operates a number of machines to help create labels and flexible packaging.
• Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
• Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
• Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
• Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
• Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes.
• Aids in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another).
• Aids in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover.
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment.
• Strips plates from cylinders.
• Locates dies to and from press.
• May be required to work with press operator to view labels with assistance of strobe light.
• Complies with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC.
• Completes quality assurance sheet and associated documentation.
• Records and enters data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Globetek).
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple windows based applications.
• Must be able regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form); seen as a team player.
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test).
• Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test).
• Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test).
• Ability to input data in the computer.

Pay

• Starting Pay $18.50p/h - $20.00p/h
• Plus $1.00p/h for night shift premium
• $40/month fitness reimbursement program

Schedule

This two-week cycle follows a 2-2-3 rotating schedule:

• Week 1: Work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days
• Week 2: Off 2 days, work 2 days, off 3 days
