Manufacturing Process Engineer

Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A seeks Manufacturing Process Engineers at our Consumer Products manufacturing facility in Lincoln, NE. Sponsorship for employment visa status is unavailable.

Responsibilities

  • Write operating programs by applying knowledge of programming language and machine functions, such as machining centers, robots, and automated processes.
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to resolve production problems, maximize process reliability, improve products, efficiency, and reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment, work standards, assembly methods, quality control standards, product design, materials, and parts.
  • Create designs of production jigs and fixtures.
  • Design and review layouts, drawings, and schedules of processes of parts to be manufactured ensuring manufacturability and ergonomic concerns.
  • Create work instructions and work standards for new or changed processes or standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Agriculture, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

  • KMM Exempt Competencies: Critical Thinking, Decision Making, Initiative/Self-Motivation, KMM Departmental Functions, Organizational Skills, Planning, Problem Solving, Professionalism, Project Management, and Resourcefulness.
  • Ability to display appropriate proficiency with computers and computer applications including: spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), word processing (e.g., Word), presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), databases (e.g., Access, contact management software), internet/intranet (e.g., browsers, search engines), special applications, 3D computer modeling software (SolidWorks or CATIA), 2D CAD software (AutoCAD), and effective use of email.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Tools and Technologies to increase value-added work, eliminate waste, decrease cost, and create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Technical Writing/Communication: Ability to convey technical information to a specific audience by creating deliverables for various distributions (e.g., paper, computer, video, internet).
