Responsibilities
- Support packaging and kitting-related activities aligned with production requirements
- Create and maintain packaging and kitting documentation, including drawings, specifications, SOPs, and work instructions
- Drive improvements to kitting processes, material presentation, and production-floor efficiency, including shadow boards and packaging layouts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality, Compliance, Logistics, and Service teams to ensure alignment with operational and SCM needs
- Support packaging-related evaluations, issue resolution, and sustaining activities, including updates driven by production or field feedback
- Provide broader support to Manufacturing Engineering, including ECO implementation, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering
- 0–3 years of experience in packaging engineering
- Fundamental understanding of packaging materials, product protection, and transport considerations
- Exposure to controlled documentation practices, including creation or use of specifications, work instructions, or labeling within a regulated or structured environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear and accurate technical documentation
- Demonstrated troubleshooting proficiency and problem-solving skills
- Capable of working independently with minimal guidance and supervision
- Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across functions
- Committed to following safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with packaging, kitting, or material flow in a manufacturing or operations environment
- Experience with medical device quality systems and regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA, MDSAP)
- Familiarity with ISTA, ASTM, or equivalent packaging and transportation test standards
- Mastery of good documentation practices
