About the role

The Manufacturing Operator II - MDI - 3rd Shift position is located in Fall River, MA, with a third shift schedule from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This role reports to a Manufacturing Supervisor and is classified as Full-Time, Non-Exempt/Hourly Professional.

Responsibilities

  • Dispensing raw material and primary packing materials as per work order.
  • Ensure the proper planning and execution of batches.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of production area and machinery during batch to batch and product to product changeover.
  • Daily monitoring and recording of production materials and production lines.
  • Conduct process checks and record in batch manufacturing records.
  • Control machine operations to maintain quality standards and minimize rejections.
  • Operate equipment and perform necessary maintenance.
  • Safeguard equipment and coordinate with engineering for preventive maintenance and calibration.
  • Manufacture and fill products according to Batch Manufacturing Records and SOP.
  • Manage inventory of machine parts, tools, and accessories.
  • Collaborate with other departments for better planning and execution.
  • Sample as per schedule and coordinate with QA and QC.
  • Monitor and ensure status labels throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and assist in corrective actions.
  • Calibrate and verify instruments, equipment, and weighing balances as per schedule.
  • Ensure line clearance during batch to batch and product to product changeover.
  • Document and enter related manufacturing and filling operations and activities.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before entering processing areas.
  • Execute procedures to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An accredited college certificate or university degree is preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of manufacturing experience with MDI or aerosol products is required.
  • Proficiency in the English language is essential for understanding work instructions and documenting results.
  • Knowledge of fundamental cGMP and regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • A basic understanding of mechanical machinery and operating principles of control systems is beneficial.
  • The ability to follow both verbal and written instructions is necessary.
  • Experience working independently and in teams is desirable.
  • A good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including OSHA, is required.
  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills are advantageous.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to lift, bend, and exert an amount of force continuously and up to 5 pounds frequently, and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Individuals may be required to wear respiratory devices such as Air Purifying Respirators (APR), hooded powered air purifying respirators, or Supplied Air Respirators (SAR).

Training and Safety

All employees must undergo various training activities upon starting their employment. Periodic retraining will occur, and operators may be required to cross-train in all areas of the manufacturing operations. Strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental guidelines is mandatory, and all safety precautions must be taken during the handling of machines.
