About the role
Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the formulation, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies for diseases and conditions of the eye. The Manufacturing Operator is an integral part of our team, responsible for performing all manufacturing processes related to Ocular Therapeutix’s products while following appropriate SOPs, current good manufacturing practices, and company policies. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Bedford, MA.

Responsibilities
- Perform various manufacturing processes by following documented SOPs and procedures, including calculating requirements, weighing materials, and operating equipment (e.g., formulation, inspection, in-process packaging, and finished product packaging).
- Operate laboratory instruments such as balances, pH meters, conductivity meters, and mixers.
- Complete documentation (batch records, process routers, forms, etc.) as required throughout the manufacturing process.
- Execute routine commercial or clinical production operations while applying GMP and GDP guidelines.
- Work in an environmentally controlled area (ECA) as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in manufacturing areas, gowning areas, and production supply areas according to SOPs.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment or process-related issues.
- Report procedural deviations and nonconformance to management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Quality Control department, for testing, sample submission, and monitoring activities.
- Maintain current training on all assigned procedures, including read & understood, skills development, and classroom training.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High-school education or equivalent required; Associate degree or biotechnology certificate strongly preferred.
- 1+ years of related experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
- Clean room experience is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Ability to gown and gain entry to pharmaceutical manufacturing areas, including wearing personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes).
- Ability to lift, pull, or push equipment requiring up to 25–50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for up to 6 hours in a production suite.
- Ability to climb ladders and work on platforms.
- Ability to work flexible hours to complete work activities.
- Ability to work around chemicals (e.g., alcohols, acids, and bases).
Pay
Salary Range: $55,000 USD – $74,000 USD
