About the role
This position provides support to a process team within a biopharmaceutical bulk products production facility, focusing on safety, quality, and manufacturing performance under Manufacturing Standard for Operational Excellence (MSOE) 602. Duties are specific to an assigned area: Cell Culture, Purification, or BioServices. Processing areas are PLC-automated and controlled via HMI.
- Cell Culture: Operate bioreactors, centrifuges, and biosafety cabinets.
- Protein Purification: Operate chromatography columns, chromatography/TFF skids, and intermediate product vessels.
- BioServices: Support Media Prep, Buffer Prep, and equipment cleaning/preparation with stainless steel vessels, autoclaves, and washers.
All departments utilize filtration technologies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate equipment according to written procedures, including setup, sterilization, monitoring parameters, in-process sampling, and routine assays.
- Support the process team per MSOE 602 standards.
- Record data, log activities, and monitor processes in compliance with cGMP standards.
- Perform general maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.
- Review batch records for completeness and accuracy.
- Author and/or revise standard operating procedures and batch records.
- Participate in non-conformance event investigations and/or change controls.
- Train and coach junior or new operators.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and communicate safety issues promptly.
- Adhere to all company safety, environmental, quality, and EEO/AA policies.
- Perform duties with honesty and integrity.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to understand technical nomenclature, mathematical formulas, and follow detailed instructions.
- Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in aseptic processing techniques.
- Technical and operational experience to aid in problem-solving.
- Ability to meet physical requirements: lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, standing for long periods, and wearing cleanroom attire.
Qualifications
- Minimum: High school diploma with 2–4 years of work experience.
- Preferred: BA/BS in biology, chemistry, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Pay
$19/hr – $34/hr (non-exempt). Placement within the range is based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market considerations.
