Responsibilities
- Produce, package, and purify chemical compounds following strict MPR, SOP, and quality guidelines, utilizing advanced techniques like pyrophoric filling, high-hazard filling, and robotics.
- Perform complex analytical testing, sample preparation, and experimentation, while interpreting results to guide in-process adjustments.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production and laboratory equipment (vessels, tanks, dryers, DCS, packaging lines) and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
- Stage, charge, monitor, label, neutralize, and dispose of materials, reactions, and wastes in strict accordance with safety procedures and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Independently investigate and resolve complex process anomalies and equipment malfunctions, leading root cause investigations and driving formal CAPA implementation.
- Modify complex manufacturing records (MPRs), author SOPs, handle deviations, and apply expert knowledge of SAP applications for material movements and billing.
- Lead 6S/OPEX initiatives and actively champion site-wide safety, quality, and inclusion by participating in committees, ERT, or cross-departmental groups.
- Develop daily work plans to optimize resources, provide clear shift pass-offs to leadership, and serve as a technical mentor/trainer for onboarding new employees.
Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Sit, stand, walk, reach above shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl for the duration of the shift.
- Use close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception for the duration of the shift.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 7+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in a life science discipline.
- Experience with complex production or packaging techniques, in-process analytical testing, sample preparation, and interpretation.
- Expert or advanced knowledge of SAP transactions used in production and packaging operations.
- Experience leading root cause investigations, CAPA implementation, 6S/OPEX improvements, PDSA cycles, and sustainable process improvements.
- Experience writing or revising SOPs, modifying MPRs, and preparing deviations or addendums.
- Experience with training new employees, mentor coworkers, and serve as a technical resource for production and/or packaging issues.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
- Strong comprehension of oral and written instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving capability, and basic math skills, including use of the metric system.
Pay
Pay Range for this position: $27/hr - $45/hr
