Principal Duties And Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of manufacturing supervisors, production leads, and production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Oversee all pack-out operations to ensure product is accurately packed, quality standards are met, and shipments are completed efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Manage packaging materials, crates, and packing supplies by maintaining inventory, ensuring proper usage, and enforcing safety and compliance standards throughout pack-out operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, program management, IT, and quality assurance departments to resolve potential shop floor and inventory control discrepancies.
  • Implement and enforce quality control standards and procedures throughout the manufacturing pack-out process, ensuring products meet internal/external specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage manufacturing budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Oversee pack out equipment maintenance and calibration programs to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on manufacturing performance, including key metrics such as production output, quality, and efficiency.

Job Specifications

  • Education And Work Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
    • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 1 to 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
    • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing manufacturing teams.
    • Strong understanding and practical experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools.
    • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, inventory control, and quality management systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
    • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.).
    • Physical ability to work on and around industrial equipment, including occasional lifting to 50lbs.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing systems.
    • Effective in time management and delegation.
    • Skilled in debugging and root cause analysis.

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced work environment.
  • Certain areas are considered loud work environments and will require ear protection.
  • Extensive use of computer equipment, and frequent telephone activity.
  • Periods of extended sitting, walking, and standing are required.
  • Activities such as bending and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.

Physical Demands

  • Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by Company policy.
