About the role
Coordinate, plan, and manage all manufacturing and production processes and personnel as the current Manufacturing Manager retires.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all manufactured components are produced efficiently and meet company goals for quality and customer order on-time performance.
- Manage company assets to support cost-effective completion of production schedules.
- Monitor and report shop labor efficiencies.
- Recommend and manage improvements to reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and sustain those improvements.
- Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout manufacturing; work with Quality Assurance on continuous improvements and provide preventative and corrective actions.
- Oversee all MRO, tooling, and manufacturing supply procurement.
- Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership, development, and training.
- Manage all equipment preventative maintenance activities and requirements.
- Ensure safety guidelines are met to maintain a safe work environment; coordinate periodic safety meetings.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and provide input on department measurements.

Requirements
- Associate degree or greater preferred; minimum of 5 years of work experience in a machined component manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervision and management experience in a medium to large machine shop environment.
- Proficient in programming (MasterCAM preferred) and troubleshooting G-code programming language.
- Knowledge of FANUC and MAZATROL lathe and mill controls is essential.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).
- Excellent conceptual, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction.
- Strong, ambitious, and motivated team player with attention to detail.

- Effectively interpret and translate instructions to employees in a professional and respectful manner.
- Communicate verbally and in writing in English with clients and employees in a professional/business manner.
- Perform basic and complex geometric mathematical computations; apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Read and interpret basic dimensions on blueprints.
- Implement, understand, and execute departmental budgetary needs.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using logic.
- Interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands
- Ability to move or transfer products using an overhead crane.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required.
- Regularly required to stand for at least four hours at a time, walk throughout buildings, and reach with hands and arms at floor, waist, and shoulder level.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Mental Work Demands
- Regular and on-time attendance.
- Full-time position; hours regularly exceed 40 hours per week.
- Occasional travel by conventional means, including aircraft and motor vehicle.
Work Environment
The work environment is usually moderate to high noise level.
