About The Role
We are hiring a Manufacturing Manager to oversee the daily operations of our electrical panel shop, including the fabrication, assembly, testing, and delivery of electrical control panels, switchgear, and related enclosures. This role leads and develops a team of technicians while maintaining quality standards, ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations and industry codes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work closely with engineering, project management, and procurement teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and support a team of technicians responsible for the assembly of electrical control panels, switchgear, distribution panels, and related field service activities, including recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and career development.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide assembly, fabrication, wiring, installation, and testing processes.
- Manage daily production activities by assigning work, maintaining schedules, prioritizing resources, and leading production meetings to communicate priorities, address constraints, and ensure projects remain on track.
- Monitor production performance through labor hours, productivity metrics, project budgets, and accurate reporting to support efficient resource utilization and profitability goals.
- Oversee the fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, quality inspections, factory acceptance testing (FAT), packaging, and shipment of completed panels while ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to resolve design issues, coordinate material needs, manage inventory levels, and mitigate schedule impacts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and production-related issues encountered during panel assembly and testing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and best practices that improve efficiency, reduce waste, standardize processes, and enhance overall quality.
- Support project estimating and quoting efforts by providing labor estimates, manufacturing input, and lessons learned from previous projects.
- Maintain accurate production records, including timesheets, project status updates, completed work, and project-related issues or delays.
- Serve as the primary production point of contact for customers during factory acceptance testing, site visits, and project execution activities.
- Coordinate field service activities, including personnel scheduling, customer communication, and successful execution of field projects.

Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as an electrical panel builder, supervisor, foreman, or in a similar manufacturing leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, wiring methods, panel designs, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and safety standards, including NEC and IEC requirements.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to supervise, develop, and motivate a team while supporting a collaborative work environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively partner with clients, vendors, and internal teams to support successful project execution.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify challenges, develop solutions, and support continuous improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain a TWIC card required.
