About the role
The Manufacturing Manager is part of the Plant Manager’s staff, responsible for leading the production and maintenance teams, and participates in plant strategic leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead production supervisory team to fulfill production requirements.
- Improve and support production and quality procedures and processes to enable TUS molding to be the best molding house.
- Supervise the maintenance of injection molding machinery and its auxiliary equipment.
- Participate in project justification and project management; oversee capital improvement projects for TUS molding.
- Evaluate and assign capital projects to vendors and be responsible for ensuring successful project completion.
- Maintain and improve the plant’s safety and housekeeping.
- Lead cost reduction, machine, equipment, and automatic system optimization; and continuous improvement.
- Lead production teams to validate new and transferred molds for TUS molding.
- Work insatiably to improve the way TUS molding operates.
- Lead and support related activities to New Product Development and Introduction from a manufacturing perspective.
- Own plans for repair and refurbishment of molds and report out to senior leadership on project status.
- Monitor performance and productivity for improvement.
- Hire, supervise, train, and help grow molding and tooling technicians.
- Support Molding Excellence activities and lead corresponding activities in TUS molding.
- Build high-performing teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Eight years of manufacturing supervisory experience, ideally in an injection molding environment, or demonstrated ability to successfully supervise injection molding manufacturing personnel.
- Experience with statistical and analytical methods such as SPC.
- Experience with TQM, TPM, P/DFMEA, and DOE concepts.
- Proficiency in project management and Microsoft Office software.
- Experience in verification and validation, including design reviews, change control, etc.
- Able to effectively manage multiple projects at a time.
- Bilingual English/Spanish with excellent communication and people management skills.
- Positive disposition and ability to lead and work with others while developing a working environment of improvement and excellence.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Graduate studies in Business or Advanced Engineering.
- Proficient in the use of CAD and SolidWorks.
- Previous Operations Management, Engineering, or Plant Management roles.
