Manufacturing Lead - Packaging

About the Role

Lead Person tasked with running a specific area of production in an efficient and safe manner. Understands the daily schedule and communicates information to operators, ensuring product rotation follows the first-in-first-out concept. Ensures orders are processed in accordance with Boar’s Head's customer service standards. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a warehouse, distribution center, or meat processing facility. Proactively assists production supervisors in achieving departmental goals, training others, and troubleshooting issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks as assigned by the department supervisor/manager.
• Operate and help maintain equipment within the assigned area.
• Report problem situations and make recommendations to enhance production efficiency.
• Work as a team player to assist with on-the-job training and development of other employees.
• Assist Supervisor in recognizing potential problems and coach employees or recommend actions.
• Follow Company’s GMPs, SOPs, Safety, Plant rules, and other policies and codes of conduct.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Verify accuracy of orders/invoices/manifests, complete cycle counts, and inventory control procedures.
• Satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Work in a cold, damp environment.
• Prior experience in a leadership capacity within a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Basic oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to lift and move 50-75 pounds (with assistance when required).
• Available to work Monday through Friday, with weekend work as dictated by production needs.
• Fork-lift/tow motor experience.
• Experience with Oracle systems preferred.
