Manufacturing HR Lead
This role provides strategic HR and business leadership to the plant site, advising the plant leadership team on all human capital matters. The HR Lead is crucial for managing and delivering HR strategies to improve business results, acting as an effective change agent and fostering workforce engagement. This position is part of our HR talent pipeline, aimed at developing future HR leaders within a progressive, people-focused work environment.

Reports to: Regional HR Leader, NA Residential
Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership: Drive safety initiatives to achieve zero recordable injuries and ensure adherence to standards. Communicate Owens Corning’s safety stand to reinforce that all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone’s responsibility, and working safely is a condition of employment. Integrate safety into all people-related initiatives.
- HR Strategy:
- Guide and sustain organizational changes to meet facility needs while aligning with broader business goals.
- Lead employee relations, including conflict resolution and leadership coaching, to ensure consistent application of policies and drive engagement.
- Influence leaders and employees to foster an inclusive environment and accelerate business outcomes.
- Drive a culture of appreciation to attract, develop, and retain employees.
- Partner with plant leadership to shape culture using the company’s talent management strategies and systems.
- Use data and analytics to identify organizational opportunities and create targeted strategies.
- Ensure clarity of strategy, align capabilities and resources, and establish structures, processes, rewards, and metrics to operationalize business strategy.
- Support implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) across the site.
- Business Partnership:
- Act as a trusted advisor to people leaders, including senior leadership, with the ability to influence and drive change.
- Apply business acumen to maximize financial drivers, optimize resources, promote manufacturing excellence, and leverage customer insights.
- Coach and educate leaders to build capability and accountability for results.
- HR Functional Leadership:
- Grow training and development within the facility using TPM methodologies.
- Own all HR administrative functions, including payroll, labor analytics, HRIS, administration of Variable Incentive Pay plan, employee records, and resolution of employee inquiries related to wages, benefits, work practices, and policies.
- Lead talent management processes, including attraction, recruitment, and retention of salaried and primary talent.
- Drive employee engagement and communication strategy, including leading engagement surveys, data collection, and action plan implementation.
- Improve and streamline HR and plant processes to reduce administrative work, including supporting digital transformation.
- Ensure consistent rollout, application, and understanding of policies, programs, and procedures.
- Lead and support reward and recognition programs, wellness initiatives, affinity groups, and community involvement efforts.
- Assist business leaders with developing and delivering key communications to engage employees.
- Leading & Developing Talent:
- Invest in the growth and development of the team.
- Evaluate current and future capabilities of individuals or teams and identify areas for growth.
- Coach, evaluate, and teach Owens Corning Leadership Capabilities to the team.
- Inspire teamwork across staff functions and business groups to maximize performance and development.
- Guide the team through performance management processes.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field.
- 3+ years of HR experience.
- Previous experience working in manufacturing.
- Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field.
- Proven track record of driving engagement through HR strategies.
- Experience as a business partner to leaders, delivering strong business results.
- Skills & Abilities:
- HR systems experience and understanding.
- Knowledge of applicable labor laws and regulations; ability to communicate requirements effectively.
