Manufacturing Engineering Tech - Drafter
About the role
As a Designer on the NPI team at nVent, you will play a key role working with cross-functional teams to support product development, manufacturing, and customer solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive manufacturability, quality, and scale, while helping ensure designs meet requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product management teams to ensure design intent and manufacturability.
- Maintain drawing standards and documentation in accordance with company and industry guidelines.
- Support prototype development and testing by providing accurate design data and documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage and organize CAD files and design documentation within PLM systems.
- Design, build, and help qualify fixtures, custom tools, and inspection tools.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, mechanical design, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ideally 5+ years of experience in CAD design, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficient in SolidWorks software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
Compensation Range: $20.40 - $37.80 Per Hour. Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
