About the role

Hayward Holdings Inc. (NYSE "HAYW") is the largest manufacturer of residential swimming pool equipment in the world, with a significant and growing presence in the commercial pool market. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment, including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control, and energy solutions at company-owned facilities. This role is based in Nashville, TN.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the manufacturing engineering function to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production of residential and commercial pool and spa products.
  • Drive process excellence, capital deployment, automation, and new product introductions while developing and mentoring a team of manufacturing engineers.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Product Management, and Product Engineering to deliver continuous improvement, cost reduction, and scalable manufacturing solutions.
  • Apply past experience with automation for low- to medium-volume assembly, testing, and packaging.
  • Develop production equipment, tooling, and fixtures, including design, justification, specification, and qualification.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Multitask using software planning tools and reports to track and maintain on-time scheduling of resources.
  • Support all current and new product introductions.
  • Demonstrate project management ability, facilitating groups and negotiating effectively with key suppliers.
  • Interface with external vendors to source high-quality equipment and fixtures.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to identify opportunities, product and equipment weaknesses, and solve problems through consensus.
  • Assist in developing plant layout for better utilization of space, equipment, and operations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documents: BOMs, Routers, Manufacturing Instructions, work orders, etc., and create and maintain production routers.
  • Work with CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to generate engineering drawings.
  • Support production through efficient identification and resolution of line issues.
  • Identify and initiate process improvement projects that impact product quality and process yield; recommend improvements, troubleshoot problems, and develop corrective actions.
  • Work with Design Engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacturing and that processes are capable of producing them to specification and quality requirements.
  • Develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to maximize department productivity.

Requirements

  • BS in an applicable engineering field or other technical degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in field or related experience.
  • Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), Excel, and MS Word.
  • PC computer proficiency with MS Office.

  • Provide technical assessments of situations within normal scope of influence; recognized as a subject matter expert within the company.
  • Assess continuation risk and quality of previous work on projects, identifying areas for business process improvements.
  • Leadership role in building departmental capabilities through mentoring and development of others.
