Responsibilities
- Serve as technical escalation point for manufacturing, quality, and customer issues
- Support new program launch for the manufacturing division
- Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards
- Identify risks early and drive mitigation plans
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineers with varied experience and behavioral styles
- Audit and improve processes to reduce costs and improve cycle times
- Lead process optimization, cost reduction, and cycle-time improvement initiatives
- Measure success through team execution and repeatable outcomes rather than individual technical ownership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field or 8–10 years of experience in a similar role
- Five years of experience in manufacturing processing in the automotive industry
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to lift 35+ pounds
- Knowledge of Automotive Body components and IATF 16949 quality requirements
- Statistical analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading process optimization, cost reduction, and cycle-time improvement initiatives
- Experience auditing and improving processes to reduce costs and improve cycle times
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers with varied experience and behavioral styles
Job Location
Supports the Gerstco Manufacturing Group with some travel as required.
