About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at LG Energy Solution, you will assist and support an Engineer in one of the three major battery-manufacturing departments. Learning objectives include understanding the general battery production process, battery materials (strength and composition), and the practical application of locking mechanisms and fasteners.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot machines on the production floor to ensure highest yield and Optimal Equipment Efficiency.
  • Interface with team members in the plant and office, as well as external suppliers and contractors.
  • Evaluate existing procedures and production methods for opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Improve production processes by creating standard operating procedures and ensuring their correct implementation on the floor.
  • Develop procedures, forms, checklists, and schedules to support process development and improvement.
  • Research new technologies, equipment, and supplies to help improve operations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (Junior or Senior standing).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new tasks and projects.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals.
  • Korean-English bilingual strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to commute and work at the Lansing, MI facility with a valid driver’s license and transportation.
