Manufacturing Engineer/S&OP Analyst

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer / S&OP Analyst to support production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and digital transformation initiatives across our manufacturing operations. This role combines traditional production planning with a strong focus on data analytics, Power BI reporting, MES systems, and digital process optimization.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate understands manufacturing operations and production planning while enjoying the use of data and technology to improve processes. This person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced plant environment, translating operational needs into reporting or system improvements, and partnering with multiple teams to enhance visibility, efficiency, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

Production Planning and Operations

  • Develop and maintain optimized production schedules across departments
  • Manage order entry, lead times, and schedule adjustments using ERP systems such as QAD
  • Monitor work-in-process and finished goods inventory levels and take action to maintain appropriate balances
  • Partner with purchasing and operations to support raw material availability and production alignment
  • Serve as a liaison between customer service and the plant regarding order changes, customer priorities, and scheduling needs
  • Support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction through proactive planning adjustments

Digital, Data, and Automation

  • Lead efforts to automate manual planning transactions and reporting processes through digital tools and system integration
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools for production performance, inventory, and service metrics
  • Support and enhance MES functionality to improve data capture, system integration, and process visibility
  • Identify process inefficiencies and design digital solutions to improve workflow effectiveness and data accuracy
  • Partner with IT, engineering, and operations teams to implement system improvements and digital initiatives
  • Perform data analysis, requirements gathering, and gap assessments to support system enhancements
  • Lead or support digital transformation projects, including reporting standardization and process automation

Continuous Improvement and Collaboration

  • Participate in WCM, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support ERP and system transitions, upgrades, or integrations
  • Provide training and support to users on reporting tools, MES systems, and new digital processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve quality, cost, productivity, and overall operational performance

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required

Experience

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in production planning, materials planning, or manufacturing operations
  • Experience with ERP systems required, with QAD experience preferred
  • Experience with MES systems or manufacturing data systems strongly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Power BI skills required, including data modeling, dashboards, and visualization
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • Experience with MES systems, system integration, or automation tools
  • Familiarity with database tools or data environments such as Access or SQL preferred

Pay

The local pay range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000. This pay rate can vary depending on location/geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
