About the role
As a Manufacturing Engineer Manager on the STANLEY® Engineered Fastening (“SEF”) team, you will lead the development and deployment of manufacturing processes focused on achieving the highest level of safety throughout the Elyria, OH facility. This onsite role involves coaching and mentoring the engineering team, driving continuous improvement, and supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document standardized manufacturing processes using predictive tools such as Risk Assessments and PFMEA to ensure stability, predictability, and high safety and quality performance.
- Coach and mentor the engineering team in continuous improvement across all plant value streams.
- Drive productivity projects that positively impact the site’s financial performance.
- Provide day-to-day manufacturing process support, including methods, tooling, equipment, and problem-solving for production teams.
- Collaborate with manufacturing supervisors, managers, and technical leaders to resolve issues related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Work off shifts as required.
- Foster a learning culture through problem-solving, envisioning future state conditions, and leading the organization toward fulfillment.
- Plan, develop, and implement capital equipment and tooling improvement plans, including new product launch activities.
- Facilitate formal continuous improvement kaizen activities to eliminate waste at the Akron facility.
- Drive new product development, including APQP deliverables, tooling and equipment concepts, quotations, process development, qualification, and approval processes.
- Improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency using lean manufacturing principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role or related field.
- Experience managing and leading large projects within a manufacturing facility.
- Proven track record in coaching and developing subordinates.
- Thorough understanding and practical application of lean manufacturing principles, including 7 Waste, 6S, TAKT time, SMED, Standard Work, and Flow.
- Working knowledge of fabrication, weld/fit processes, metal forming processes, and associated equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of best-in-class assembly operations, part presentation, and material flow.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines; certified project management skills preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems (ERPLX preferred) for data entry and reporting.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $110,600.00 - $178,000.00 annually. The offered salary may vary based on job level, geographic location, experience, qualifications, and compliance with local wage requirements. Eligible employees may also receive annual merit increases.
