Summary
Affairs is planning and coordinating manufacturing process of an industrial establishment and develops work measurement procedures and performs time-and-motion studies to promote efficient and economical utilization of personnel and facilities.
Essential Functions
- Assists in developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods.
- Applies knowledge of functions and processes of various departments and capacities of machines and equipment to determine tool requirements and establish sequence of operations to manufacture parts.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Confers with establishment personnel to implement operation procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
- Confers with workers in other departments to provide technical information.
- Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions.
- Directs or conducts observation and analysis of personnel and work procedures to determine time-and-motion requirements of job duties.
- Analyzes work study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards.
- Applies mathematical analysis to determine validity and reliability of sampling and work study statistics.
- Applies principles of industrial or manufacturing engineering and applied psychology to evaluate work methods proposals and to develop recommendations to management affecting work methods, wage rates, and budget decisions.
- Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
- Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
- Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
- Communicates with management and user personnel to develop production standards.
- Recommends methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
- Plans and establishes sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is may be exposed to moving mechanical parts when on shop walks.
Physical Demands
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Use specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications
- PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent, studying at a college or university, majoring in related field.
- Additional Eligibility Qualifications: High level of proficiency using spreadsheet applications such as Excel, including the use of pivot.
- Attendance: In order to perform this job the employee must meet all Company attendance requirements.
