Position Profile
The Manufacturing Engineer II role focuses on improving manufacturing processes through optimized methods, data-driven analysis, and Lean Six Sigma tools.

Responsibilities
- Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, quality standards, Lean Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies.
- Participate in higher level discussions regarding business
- Managing, evaluating, and reporting production metrics to drive process change
- Cost analysis
- First pass yield
- Failure modes and solutions
- Investigate new technology/methodology that may reduce touch time, cycle time, or yield loss
- Implement production changes and utilize: DOE Data analysis ROI analysis Historical design information
- Report results for appropriate parties
- Assist in developing Opto-mechanical tooling, fixtures, test stations and test software
- Familiarity with coding (simple database structure, runtime scripts, controls, GUI creation)
- Develops and implements manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, routers, and bills of materials
- Manage troubleshooting efforts and provide technical support to technicians
- Works with designers to recommend changes for manufacturability DFM-design for manufacturability
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality to mitigate supply chain issues and the impact on production deliverables
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / engineering technology field or equivalent
- 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing facility
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player
- Solid organizational, presentation and customer relationship skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with imaging systems, range finders and LASER aiming
- Ability to effectively deliver a product within schedule and budget
- Experienced with designing and modeling using SolidWorks
- Knowledge and experience of testing to meet MIL-STD-810G requirements
- Experienced with schematic capture using Altium
- Proficiency with LABVIEW, Python, or equivalent software suite
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Visio and Project
What You’ll Need To Be Successful (continued)
- Requires U.S. Citizenship
- Ideally, You’ll Also Have Experience working in an ITAR environment and a DoD cleared facility
- Experience with ISO 9000 and 9015
- Knowledge and experience of working in or maintaining a clean room
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
- Experience with BeamGage, StarLab, PicoScope, CoolTerm
- Experience with AI tools and integration
