Role Overview
This Manufacturing Engineer II independently drives process improvements, owns manufacturing methods, and ensures readiness for new products. They develop and optimize manufacturing processes, influence design for manufacturability, and lead corrective actions for production issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enhance manufacturing methods, operation sequences, tooling, and documentation.
- Ensure accurate and efficient manufacturing routings, BOMs, labor standards, and work instructions.
- Collaborate with design teams to improve product manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, ergonomics, throughput, and quality, while reducing costs.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to manufacturing failures.
- Estimate costs, establish time standards, and support engineering change implementation.
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot equipment/process issues, and assist with rework planning.
- Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvements within production.
- Lead manufacturing improvement projects and serve as a technical resource for production staff and junior engineers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 4 years of relevant manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, BOM structuring, and process workflow planning.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, planning, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with software tools such as Autodesk-Inventor, Visio, Excel, and Project.
- Ability to perform basic cost calculations and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and ability to obtain necessary security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience in complex machinery manufacture and Design for Manufacture/Assembly principles.
- Knowledge of business finance principles.
