Manufacturing Engineer II

Job Purpose Plans, designs, and improves manufacturing processes medical device assembly. Essential Duties Maximizes productivity of assembly, whether equipment, work force utilization, workstation optimization, administrative systems, and internal supply chains. Exercises initiative, participating with and directing others in various projects and assignmentsGains mastery of support systems (change control, validation, corrections, costing, etc.) using them to maximum efficiencyContinuously improves tools and systems used in own area of workCoordinates with other operational departments to ensure projects are completed on taskCommunicates with customers and vendors as neededPerforms a variety of complex tasks using experience and judgment Upholds SPG and Dupont vision and core valuesPerforms other duties as assigned Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Required Applicable Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in a related fieldCompetent in the basic problem solving methods A track record of problem solving, identifying errors and deficiencies and implementing improvements Communicates clearly, and concisely at all levels of the organizationCompetent at prioritizing time and competing tasks and projectsAbility to apply knowledge to their job function using pre-established guidelines and instructionsHas knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, procedures and business principles within fieldAbility to problem solve, identify errors and deficiencies and perform research independentlyAccuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness Proficient computer skills Proficient communications skillsA certain degree of creativity and latitude Ability to comprehend and comply with company safety and quality standardsResponsible for understanding and complying with all SPG and Dupont safety policies and procedures. Preferred 5 years directly related experienceUnderstands Lean manufacturingExperience in Project Management Medical device background Working Conditions Works under general supervision. Requires light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities. About 40% of time will require standing and walking on the Production floor, where wearing of protective clothing might be necessary. About 60% of time will be spent working at desk and/or computer.
