ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and coordinate the manufacturing process.
  • Write Work Instructions.
  • Participate in work area layouts.
  • Produce spaghetti diagrams and process flow charts.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods based on product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confer with planning and design staff on product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards and agreements.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CBI policies and procedures.
  • Absorb and maintain clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter, and be detail-oriented.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Multilevel experience in CNC machining, forging, casting, sheet metal fabrication, punch press operation, progressive tool design, transfer press operation, deep drawing stainless steel, heat treating, automation of secondary machining operations with emphasis on tapping, thread rolling, and thread locking operations, as well as automation of assembly operations.
  • Fastener industry background with knowledge of military aerospace standards is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field, industry, or work environment.
  • P.E. certification, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, CMfgT or CMfgE (SME) certifications preferred.
  • Sufficient machining skills to produce prototypes and tooling.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other electronic drafting program.
  • Proficiency in using SolidWorks is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
